Doyle and Nona Thompson in front of the Gettysburg Chapel.  They were introduced to the church by Ivar going to the cattle market "sales barn" and they accidentally exchanged hats (cowboy hats).  They started chatting and Doyle said they were looking for a church to join so Ivar started teaching them.  He was baptized before Nona.

Otis and Alma Jones family.  Founding members of the branch.  Gerald was the first full time missionary called from the branch.  He is in the middle smiling. 

The Sandberg home in Gettysburg in town that they moved to when Ivar died.  They paid cash for the house in 1952.  It had electricity and indoor plumbing with 1 bathroom.  The bathroom had 2 door which was very unhandy.  The house was right across the street from the school.  Mildred bought it close to the school so they could get to school easy-because Ivar always took the kids to school in the sled when it was snowy the last few years.  The house had 2 bedrooms but she remodeled it.  The boys were suppose to sleep in the basement but it was too scary.

Mildred stirring the Christmas rice.  It always took a long time to cook.  She did not follow a recipe just dumped stuff in.  The brought this cupboard from the farm because there was only a table in the kitchen in the city house.

Cavanaugh's Candy store in Gettysburg.  They started it in their farm house and eventually moved into town.  She got a loan from the bank by bringing the banker a box of chocolates.  Char worked there during Christmas vacations.

Ivar is on the end right.  Missionaries at Westfalls.  1942?  She was trying to decide what church was right and Ivar gave her a BOM then the missionaries came and they were baptized in the Missouri river

Ivar in the middle in from on the Gettysberg 1952.  Ivar was the branch president and these are his counselors.  Ivar was at the dedication of the new chapel and then died shortly after.

Cindy Eliason was working at DQ but walked up to your house in the pour rain and they thought it was soooooo funny.

1947-Donny and Margaret Underwood lived upstairs.  Donny was a hired man.  The girls though they were so romantical because they were newlyweds.

1950-Cattron Country School.  Witch and Goblins in the homecoming parade.  Teacher was Anna B. Ripley

Char and Kathleen had whooping cough when Philip was born in 1945.  The Dr said Philip could not be with the kids so Aunt Della Larson and her son Gaylord came up to take care of the baby on the front porch for 6 weeks.  Then Uncle Vic came home from the navy and they all went home together.
