Thanks to Joe and Anya, I (Uncle David) was able to download copies of the parish entries for the birth of Otto Nielsen and Ane Marie Thomasdatter in Denmark (see the attachments). Otto was born in 1859, not 1860 as was reported in his obituary and on his tombstone. Ane Marie was born in Borup, Gundersted Parish, Slet district, Aalborg county rather than Borup, Vraa Parish, Borglum district, Hjorring county which appears at different places in our family history documents.
Anya found a website that has scanned copies of parish records in Denmark www.arkivalieronline.dk which is in Danish. This gives us direct access to parish records and we can now double check the research that was done earlier on our family tree.
This website seems to have parish records in southern Sweden, too, but I still need to check it out.
I am very excited about this breakthrough. Thanks, Anya and Joe.
With love and appreciation
David, Dad, Grandpa Sandberg, Uncle David, and whatever else applies
